· Member of Chinese Christian Church of New Jersey 與化工為伍,走過五十二個年頭 -曾陳霖 今年二月, 在成大大紐約區校友會廖會長廣哲的鼓吹下, 勉強地填寫了申請表,當時非常的惶恐, 因為在北美地區的成大校友, 人オ濟濟, 我オ疏學淺, 深恐辜負了會長的美意. 五月初,接到基金會的得獎通知,又是驚喜,又是慚愧. 既然校友們抬愛,只得懷著衷心的感激領受這份榮譽,當作我七十歲的生日禮物了. 回想一九五一年,當我從臺南一中畢業,同時考上了臺南エ學院和臺北師範學院(當時還沒有大專聯考),面臨將來要當エ程師或教師的抉擇,五十ニ年下來,對當初的決定, 始終沒有後悔. 母校成大的前身,臺南エ學院,在當時是相當嚴格的エ程最高學府,一年級的課程,每週四十ハ節,期中,期末考均採用高低年級混合插排座位的方式. 物理,微積分有三分之一的學生不及格,無法選ニ年級的課,使得學校在暑假開班,讓學生補修這兩門課. 二,三年級的暑假還要到校外エ場實習. 成大就是這樣來培養埋頭苦幹,腳踏實地的學生,加上樸實的校風,使得成大畢業生成為臺灣企業界的最愛. 我是受益者之一,成大的四年教育,讓我享用了四十八年. 我是臺南工學院的最後一屆畢業生,一九五六年, 服完兵役後,就職於臺碱安順廠,一九七零年,轉職臺塑,前後在前鎮廠,仁武廠,林園廠,臺北總公司任職. 一九八九年,調美國德卅廠,負責新廠擴建. 一九九八年,調新澤西總部至今. 在臺塑服務的三十三年間,參與十五座新廠的建設,一生與化エ為伍,其樂無窮. 我是個樂觀好動的人,待人以誠,喜歡參加教會,校友會等活動,業餘打高爾夫,唱卡拉○Ｋ,跳舞來調節身心.生活簡單平實. 希望各位校友多多指教,謝謝.
