• Over twenty years teaching and managing career in high-tech educational institute (NPU)

Contribution to University, Alumni Association, and/or Community

• As the president of Northwestern Polytechnic University, Dr. Hsieh has devoted in broad-based technology development and effective professional education for two decades.
• With a highly concentrated, object-oriented educational model, Dr. Hsieh has lead NPU to transform thousands of individuals into successful professionals. NPU has rapidly become one of the outstanding higher educational institutions in Silicon Valley.
• Inspired by his vision of “Borderless Global Education” and with the help of the digital campus set-up, Dr. Hsieh leads NPU to provide more learning opportunities to students in other countries.
• He also has been very active in supporting the advancement of higher education in the international communities, particularly in Asian countries. In the past twenty years, he has visited more than 3 00 institutions and more than 100,000 attendees have attended and benefited from hundreds of speeches/ presentations/lectures given by him.
• Dr. Hsieh has exerted great efforts and made great contributions in promoting east and west cross cultural understanding as well as in cultivating business cooperation between Asian companies and corporations in Silicon Valley.

時光如箭，畢業轉眼已近 40年，母校的一切依如昨夕。每次回校訪問時，校園的變化雖大，但是那傳統忠厚樸實的學風和精神依舊。 尤其難忘的是物理系的階梯教室和後院的小池，每每令人感慨萬千，回憶無窮！

在美國從事科技和教育工作不知不覺已是三十幾年，感觸最深的，也是影響我最大的，就是體會到教育的重要！選擇從事教育工作，不僅使我不斷的成長，也讓我深深體會到教育對每一個人的深遠影響，尤其是讓我學習到如何運用理性、感性和悟性三種組合方式去培養人才的機會，讓更多的人了解到感性的教育和學習是多麽的精彩！

高興、怨恨或者煩惱的事情可以讓我們銘記一生，何不把學習變成高興的事去做？這樣的學習是可以保留長久的！正是這感性的教育方式，使我體會到人人都是可造就之材，因爲人人都是有感性的！

此次獲此殊榮，一方面感到萬分榮幸，另一方面也由衷的感謝我周遭的一切：我的家庭，我的學生和同事，是他們促成了我的今天！
