本屆成大北美校友會賜給我“傑出校友獎”這項殊榮，我一方面是深感榮幸，但總感覺受之有愧；和過去獲得“傑出校友獎”的各位校友相比，我是最平凡的一個。今天欣然接受這崇高的榮譽，一是感恩父母，我希望藉此答謝他們自幼對我在學業和事業上的鼓勵和支持；二是紀念母校，希望藉此感謝成功大學給予我紮實的專業基礎教育；同時也希望為成大的年輕學友和為我的四個孩子樹立一個實例，告訴他們：即使是一個非常平凡的人，只要有決心，本著 “求真、求實、求進步”的成大精神，也可以走上較不平凡的路！ 還記得在成大的就學時期，蒙各位教授悉心引導，經過數年埋頭苦讀，我的畢業論文設計終於獲得教授們的一致好評，這大大激發了我對更深層知識的追求、提高了我對建築設計的熱愛，同時也奠定了我作為建築師的一生。 在曼尼托巴大學（ University of Manitoba 期間，我有幸得 John A Russell 院長指導，深受他 的自由思想、勇 於 創新、不墨守陳規的薰陶，初步形成了自己建 築 設計的風格和方向。 畢業後，我很幸運地在當時加拿大最著名的建築大師 RonThom 和 Eb.Zeidler 的事務所先後工作了九年，其間完成了 Ontario Place , Trent University, Prince Hotel, Shaw Festival Theater 等多個著名建 築 的設計，從而打下了 紮 實的專業基礎，也增強了自己從事專業設計的信心。 1976 年，我在多倫多成立了自己的事務所，通過數十年職業生涯的磨練，我也慢慢地由一個不善言辭、不愛講話的人，成長為一個具有較豐富實務經驗、成熟的建築師，並得到社會的認可。 我的事務所在 1980 年參加美國 Okalahoma 市和 Denver 市的兩個公開設計競賽獲獎後 , 又幸運地在加拿大、美國、中國、巴哈馬、意大利先後多次贏得國際設計競賽。目前，事務所正逐漸向國際化的方向不斷發展，走上較不平凡的路。 經過數十年來的努力，可以說終於達成一點個人的願望，四個孩子均有專業，夫人仍在旁相助；今天更獲得 成大北美校友會“傑 出校友獎”，使我這個平凡的人感覺自己是世界上最幸運和幸福的人！容我再向母校表達無限感激和敬仰！
